The tech gadgets I can afford

The Wireless charging station goes bad

So I left off last time discussing how I had gotten this wireless charging station and it basically stopped charging.  This was not good.  So I did what I invariable always do – I went on amazon and looked for something or someway to fix this.  I couldn’t find a way to fix it.  I ended up buying something, mostly because it was on sale, that would help.  Another wireless charger that could sit in the current one’s stand.  It looked like it could work!  (I have the red one, BTW).  So I put it on the previous wireless charging stand, and it didn’t work.  The charge coil was too low.  I am currently using a USB stick underneath the PowerXcell to prop it up and that works like a charm.

Once again though I faced the problem of aesthetics.  There is no way at all that this setup looks nice.  So while I was looking for something else, I found another wireless charger, that looked really nice.  Ever since I started looking for a wireless charger I have wished I purchased the one from Samsung when I got my phone.  Back then I didn’t get it for 2 reasons.  The first and primary one was it was on the expensive side ($60), the second was that the way it was designed the phone basically would be lying on its’ back while charging, which defeated the purpose in my opinion.  Now I saw on Amazon a much better deal.  Although I had heard about the true wireless charging, as long as you are within 15 feet of the unit your laptop of phone will charge, it was neither in production, nor affordable yet.  But there was a new Samsung Wireless charging stand that fit nearly everything I was looking for.

This fulfills my requirements:

  • It looks good
  • It charges in either portrait or landscape
  • It was priced reasonably on Amazon ($28)
  • It is a fast charging unit – almost like plugging the phone in

Not to mention it has a nice light that tells you it is charging.
