Webcams
A while ago, the webcam I was able to find was this little USB webcam. This one was a cute little webcam, although the quality was not what we are used to today, it was excellent for the time.
The First
It has a built-in microphone as well. I did have to attach it, via a USB cable to my computer. Eventually,
that computer became another computer and then a laptop and then another laptop and finally a QNAP Network Attached Storage (NAS) device. The NAS doesn’t like it plugged in, rather it looks for a WiFi enabled camera.
The Current camera
Now, I have several WiFi cameras at home from Wyze. The Wyze camera can be placed almost anywhere. the base is magnetic and it comes with a round metal plate you can afix with the included double sided tape to any surface. I have put one of these on a ceiling, the top of cabinet, on a wall, and on top of a cabinet. Each camera has a slot for a micro SD card.
How this came about and where it is going
I have recommended this camera to several people. But this is also how I came to know about the camera. One of my “deal” friends, pointed this one out to me. He had 4 or 5 of them himself. Thanks to him I found them on sale at the wyze website for 29.99, while Amazon had them for the list price of 39.99. Needless to say, I bought nearly 10 of them (unfortunately, I gave a way 4 or 5 as gifts during this past December 2017 season of giving).
